Review 2- Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters

Ok so yeah I read the second one, my friend is reading it too so I had to. This book was really good, probably better than the first one. Again you can tell the book is aimed at a younger audience, but it is still enjoyable.

Now, I'm sure everyone knows a couple of things about Greek Mythology without even realising it, and when you start reading this that mythology begins to come back to you. I realise that the last one I didn't actually really review it, which is why I will properly now.

The book follows Percy Jackson and his friends as they go back to Camp Half-Blood. We have an addition to them called Tyson. Now when the kids get back to camp, they find it under attack, and a very important tree that is dying (I'm not going to tell you what the tree means because that would be bad if you haven't read the first one). So Percy and his friend Annabeth find a way to get it, and find their friend.

And by the way, after you've read the last line, you want to read the next book as soon as possible, trust me.

Spoilers from here on!

Now, Hermes. I loved him, and his snakes. I found it really funny to see the way that Rick Riordan made him. And when he brought back Thalia, oh my gods. Wow amazing idea. Now as for Percy himself, he's grown up a bit, but he's still not the brightest star in the sky.

I loved the idea of the sea of monsters. And I liked that Annabeth listened to the Syrens when they were singing. It was very clever. And Percy turning into a Guinea Pig, if you've read it you probably wanted to slap him, I did.

I loved how Luke was portrayed again, and how Annabeth wasn't sure if Thalia would follow Luke's ideas or Annabeths. And Grover in a wedding dress, that had me seriously cracking up. Sooooo funny.

Overall Rating- 8.5 out of 10.

Would I read something else by the author- As soon as I've finished this review I'm reading the next one.

Film- I'm not sure if I want this to turn into a film because I'd be scared they messed it up, because for a small book it was filled with adventure.

Anything else- Sigh the laughs in this book lol.

Next Review- Definitely Percy Jackson and the Titan's Curse!

Thanks for reading x
